First Call Snow/Ice Storm Thursday Afternoon - Friday Morning 11/15 to 11/16
Above: GFS Model @ 7pm Thursday
A potent coastal system which will be aided by some tropical enhancement will push up the east coast Thursday afternoon/evening into Friday morning. As of right now (Tuesday Nov 13) there is still a bit of volatility with the systems exact impacts, but we are confident in our analysis of the model guidance on what we should expect.
Initially we believe this system comes in as rain where it will change over to sleet/freezing rain and finally exit with a "thump" of snow. While not a blizzard by anyones standards, this system will cause issues with travel, trees, and power lines due to its icing and heavy snow.
*A Winter Storm Advisory will most likely be issued Thursday Morning. *
Timing (Tentative, exact timing on change overs etc will be issued with the 2nd call tomorrow afternoon.):
Thursday afternoon as rain
Thursday evening/night will turn over to sleet and freezing rain
Early Friday morning snow
